Greetings Brethren and a warm welcome as you join with us for the observance of the Day of Atonement 2026.
This is a very special day to God, as we will see, and indeed very precious for its application, meaning, and part in God’s Plan for our salvation.
Leviticus 23:26: “The Lord spoke to Moses saying...”
I just want to pause and emphasize how important this verse is to anyone that’s reading God’s Word, that we understand that the words that the prophet spoke, that the law that has been presented are indeed the inspired Word of God! These are NOT the words of men! The prophets spoke as God inspired them through the Holy Spirit!
Verse 27: “‘Also, on the tenth day of this seventh month, is the Day of Atonement. It shall be a Holy convocation to you. And you shall afflict your souls and offer an offering made by fire to the LORD.’”
Yes, brethren, to be afflicted of soul is to go without food and without water!
Exodus 23:14––God says: “You shall keep a Feast unto Me three times in the year.”
Every year there are three seasons or Feast seasons to be observed. He goes on to define them here.
Verse 15: “You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread. You shall eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month of Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt. And no one shall appear before Me empty.” God specifies that!
Verse 16: “Also, the Feast of the Harvest of the Firstfruits of your labors, which you have sown in the field. And the Feast of Ingathering, in the end of the year, when you have gathered in your labors out of the field.”
These are instructions that God has given. He again sums it up in:
Verse 17: “Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord GOD.”
Again, showing the significance of being present per God’s instructions! These are called assemblies, Holy convocations, and God wants us to understand that.
Deuteronomy 16:16: “Three times in a year shall all your males appear before the LORD your God in the place which He shall choose: in the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and in the Feast of Weeks, and in the Feast of Tabernacles. And they shall not appear before the LORD empty.”
As is customary and as is instructed of God, we will pause and take up an offering.
(pause for the offering)
Lev. 23:1––let’s start to lay out the Day of Atonement and what it represents here for God and us.
Leviticus 23:1: “And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, ‘Speak to the children of Israel and say to them, “Concerning the appointed Feasts of the LORD, which you shall proclaim to be Holy convocations, even these are My appointed Feasts.”’”
Once again, affirming what we spoke of here just a moment ago, that these are the Feasts of God! These are not the feasts of men. This time that God has called us to is commanded by Him.
God has called us to a deeper and more profound understanding and appreciation of what it is He is doing.
Lev.16––we will read much more detail here. Let’s spend a proper quality of time here, because God provides us with more details about this annual event. Let’s understand what the Word of God says about the Day of Atonement. This day is:
a covering
a day of atoning for sin
a day of cleansing
a day of reconciling of God’s
a sanctuary
a tabernacle
an altar
Leviticus 16:1: “And the LORD spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they offered before the LORD and they died.”
This is an example even in that experience of how serious this ceremony was and how significant it was and what it represented!
Verse 2: “And the LORD said to Moses, ‘Speak to Aaron your brother, that he does not come at all times into the sanctuary within the veil before the mercy seat, which is on the Ark, so that he does not die, for I will appear in the cloud over the mercy seat
God’s very presence will be there. Aaron shall come into the sanctuary this way. God is about to instruct so that we will not die. This is the way that you come into the sanctuary. Life is in the sanctuary, access! But:
you have to come appropriately
you have to come as God prescribes
Verse 3: “Aaron shall come into the sanctuary this way: with a young bull, for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering. He shall put on the Holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches on his flesh, and shall be girded with a linen girdle, and with the linen miter he shall be dressed. These are Holy garments. And he shall wash his flesh in water and put them on” (vs 3-4). You’re seeing here symbolism:
of purity
of perfection
of acceptability
of cleansing
These garments are represented here as Holy garments! He shall wash his flesh! That cleansing and that washing of the flesh is a part of that, as well.
Verse 5: “And he shall take from the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering. And Aaron shall offer his young bull... [Aaron’s bull, the bullock] ...of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make an atonement for himself and for his house. And he shall take the two goats and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And Aaron shall cast lots on the two goats; one lot for the LORD and the other lot for Azazel” (vs 5-8).
This lot casting, this ceremony is showing that this ability to discern between evil and good is not something that we have the ability to discern! This is a judgment of God! This is a work of God that is occurring here. God is defining which is which, and the lots are depicting that.
Verse 9: “And Aaron shall bring the goat on which the LORD’S lot fell, and offer it for a sin offering.”
Now we’re going to spend some quality time here talking about the goat on which the Lord’s lot fell! It’s offering as a sin offering!
Verse 10: “But the goat on which the lot fell for Azazel shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement upon it and sent away into the wilderness for Azazel.”
We are seeing that there is being depicted here very specific symbolism in terms of:
what these two goats represent
the ceremony as it is being put forward
the quality of it
the seriousness of it
the cleanness of it
the acceptability of it
It has to be done right:
with the proper garment
with the proper attitude
with the proper washing and cleansing
This area, this temple, the tabernacle of the congregation is a very Holy place!
We just cannot come into it in any manner, neither could the priest, lest he die. We must come as God instructs us to come, and as it were with the priests. They had to ascribe to all the instruction that God had given there at the temple.
Verse 11: “And Aaron shall bring the young bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and shall make an atonement for himself and for his house... [very significant in terms of him atoning for himself and his house] ...and shall kill the young bull of the sin offering, which is for himself.”
Verse 12: “And he shall take a censer full of coals... [this is very interesting] ... of fire from off the altar before the LORD, and his hands full of fragrant incense beaten small, and bring it within the veil”––first trip in!
prayers symbolized by the incense
humble and fasting
the entire day is dedicated to that!
Verse 13: And he shall put the incense on the fire before the LORD... [those prayers are offered before the LORD and the incense creates this cloud] ...And the cloud of the incense shall cover the mercy seat that is on the testimony. And he shall not die.”
Proper way to come before God, humble in prayer; not lifted up and haughty! Definitely bow down. Significant, also:
Verse 14: “And he shall take of the blood of the young bull...”
This is Aaron exercising the right, so that he can then officiate. He is simply cleansing and offering for himself in the tabernacle.
Verse 14: “And he shall take of the blood of the young bull and shall sprinkle with his finger on the front of the mercy seat eastward. And he shall sprinkle at the front of the mercy seat seven times from the blood with his finger.” Seven times, a complete cleansing!
Verse 15: “Then he shall kill the goat of the sin offering that is for the people...”
He has done reconciling or atoning himself, the temple, and the various parts there. Now he brings forth the live goat, for on which the lot fill fell, the LORD.
Verse 15: “Then he shall kill the goat of the sin offering that is for the people... [the goat on which the lot fell for the LORD] ... and bring its blood inside the veil....”––on behalf of the people!
That is a part and right of the high priest. He offers up for others,
“...And he shall do with that blood as he did with the blood of the young bull... [sprinkling it for cleansing and for atoning] ...and sprinkle it on the mercy seat and before the mercy seat. And he shall make an atonement for the sanctuary... [the entire sanctuary] ...because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel and because of their transgressions in all their sins....” (vs 15-16).
This is where that happens. Again, once a year this wonderful symbolic event occurs, picturing a more incredible thing that Christ has done!
“...And so he shall do for the tabernacle of the congregation, which remains with them in the midst of their uncleanness. And there shall be no man in the tabernacle of the congregation when he goes in to make an atonement in the sanctuary until he comes out and has made an atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the congregation of Israel” (vs 16-17).
Very significant: Alone, he is in there, atoning for the people! All the blood carried in, representing the blood of atonement.
Verse 18: “And he shall go out to the altar that is before the LORD and make an atonement for it.... [this is outside the veil, outside that area] ... And he shall take of the blood of the young bull and of the blood of the goat... [both; that is very significant] ... and put it on the horns of the altar all around.”
Verse 19: “And he shall sprinkle of the blood on it with his finger seven times... [a complete cleansing of the altar] ...and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel. And when he has made an end of reconciling the sanctuary and the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, he shall bring the live goat” (vs 19-20).
Do you see the sequence of events? This ceremony is two parts, two judgments!
one is a judgment for life
one is a judgment regarding life as it is today
A life of:
struggling against sin
fleshly weaknesses
darkness
things that men have had to go through
all the misery that we have experienced
This live goat is about to have that place back where it rightfully belongs.
Verse 21: “And Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over him... [over the live goat] ...all the sins of the children of Israel... [this goat, which is Azazel] ...and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them on the head of the goat, and shall send it away by the hand of a chosen man into the wilderness” (vs 21-22).
This goat represents Satan the devil, who is the author of sin, and rightly so having been properly judged by God to have that sin put back upon Him!
Yes, the LORD God, the goat for which the lot fell was sacrificed, covering the sins of man, of all mankind! Satan is the author of that sin! Mankind––in the garden through Adam––failed the test and sinned! As a result of his sin, the penalty of sin was placed upon all of us! Yes, the law of sin and death is upon all men, all of Adam’s progeny!
Everyone that is born flesh carries the law of sin and death. That judgment of imputing the sin of Adam unto all of his descendants is a Truth and a judgment of God pertaining to how He views these things.
Lev. 10––this is the incident where Aaron’s sons came into the sanctuary area and did things not according to the instructions. God had already warned them to be careful:
to do things according to the patterns
to do things according to the instructions
that He had given!
Leviticus 10:1: “And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it... [they were going through a ceremony] ... and put incense on it, and offered strange fire before the LORD... [it didn’t come from the altar, which He had commanded them not to do] ...And there went out fire from the LORD and consumed them, and they died before the LORD” (vs 1-2). God is conveying a very important message to us:
listen to God
listen to his instructions
pray to God
lean toward His Word
listen to obey
hearken to the Word of the LORD
Always hearken!
Let’s go now to Lev. 17, as we begin to enter into the deeper aspects of the ceremony.
Leviticus 17:10: “And any man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that are living among you, who eats any blood, I will set My face against that soul who eats blood, and will cut him off from among his people.”
This is a message for ALL mankind Recognizing this next statement to be true, and understand the significance of the life that we live, the life that we have, is from the blood that God gives us, the circulation, and the oxygen, many other things.
Verse 11: “For the life of the flesh is in the blood. And I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for yourselves; for it is the blood that makes an atonement for life.”
Keeping that in mind, that all life is in the blood, and if your life is required, your blood is required of you.
Exodus 30:1: “And you shall make an altar to burn incense upon. You shall make it of acacia wood. A cubit shall be its length, and a cubit its breadth. It shall be square. And two cubits shall be the height of it, its horns shall be from itself” (vs 1-2).
He just kind of describes this altar of incense, again, a very significant part of the offering area.
Verse 3: “And you shall overlay it with pure gold, its top, and its sides all around, and its horns. And you shall make for it a crown molding of gold all around the top edges.”
This altar is a very special altar, and to come and put the incense upon it so that it can represent what it represents as well.
Let’s stop and understand something very important about the goat on which the LORD’s lot fell, and why lots we have already discussed.
First of all, the ceremony required lots to identify that goat which would represent the LORD. All of this is a work of God. We are participating in a ceremony, we’re learning from the ceremony, but God is truly inspiring it and officiating it through the high priest! He alone gives true discernment for good and evil, and God has done that.
God has done that for you and me so that we don’t have to wonder. What we are to do is to trust God and to yield and obey His words when He speaks them. God is in charge and we are so blessed to have the Spirit of God within us to comprehend and understand what it is that He is instructing us to do! We are to trust Him to guide us in His good way!
The goat on which the LORD’s lot fell was offered, brethren. What is being pictured here? The sin offering, which is Christ’s goat, the LORD’s goat, is picturing everlasting atonement; the cleansing power of Jesus Christ!
Let’s go to the New Testament and let’s learn more detail about what we just read in the Law through the eyes and understanding of Paul, whom the Lord Himself instructed and the meaning of these things! Again, with clarity and with depth of understanding is what Paul was given.
This day truly is representing an incredible gift and grace overshadowing all of us who are firstfruits, and all of men, indeed, all of mankind as we will see!
Hebrews 9:22: “Now, almost all things are purified with blood according to the priestly law...”—meaning that you have been passed over, that you have been atoned for through the sacrificial symbolism of the blood shed by those dead sacrificial animals
Verse 22: “Now, almost all things are purified with blood according to the priestly law, and without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins. Therefore, it was indeed obligatory for the patterns of the heavenly things to be purified with the blood of these animals, but the things in heaven themselves with superior sacrifices than these. For Christ has not entered into the Holy places made by human hands, which are mere copies of the true; rather, He has entered into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us” (vs 22-24).
this relationship that we have with Christ and His sacrifice
this thing that He did for us on the day of Passover in giving His life
this wonderful gift that He gave us
to help us
to save us
to redeem us
to reconcile us
to remove from us the stain of sin, the penalty of sin
to give us life
to give us hope
What an incredible act of love it was, and it has such a great impact, such a great far-reaching impact in our lives that we truly do need to comprehend. This day represents an understanding of the power of the blood of Christ, and its far-reaching impact unto all men for all times.
Verse 25: “Not that He should offer Himself many times, even as the high priest enters into the Holy of Holies year by year with the blood of others.”
As I said and we read there in Leviticus, he takes the blood of the people, this cleansing that occurs for the people through the goat, the blood of the goat on which the LORD’s lot fell!
Verse 26: For then it would have been necessary for Him to suffer many times since the foundation of the world. But now, once and for all, in the consummation of the ages, He has been manifested for the purpose of removing sin through His sacrifice of Himself.” Once, brethren!
Here we have the ceremony being exercised year by year by year by the high priest Aaron or his sons throughout those generations, Each year, a goat on which the Lord’s lot fell, selected and sacrificed and killed, and the blood is sprinkled.
In that day in which the Lord will stand on earth and judge Satan, in that day, the Lord Himself will not be sacrificed. There will be no sacrifices on that day, because the Lord would have already been sacrificed! He would have already shed His blood, and His blood has the power to cover for all times. Of course, the lot in which the lot fell for Azazel, representing Satan, is also a spirit being. He’s representing his judgment and being locked up for a thousand years!.
Verse 27: And inasmuch as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this, the judgment... [the judgment of God] ...so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear the second time... [when He comes back to earth and set His feet upon the earth] ...without sin unto salvation to those who are eagerly awaiting Him” (vs 27-28).
The covering power of His blood will still be very significant and have its application in anyone who has faith in that. His shed blood, that day on the cross, on that day of Passover, when He gave Himself for the life of the world, for the sin of the world, is carrying on, is ever atoning.
He shed His blood; it purifies, it cleanses, and atones for sin! He revealed this to us, as I read it to you in Lev. 17:11.
Even all that’s within it, all of this being what we understand from the ceremony and what we have learned. Let’s look at something Paul wrote in Rom. 6; some very important details here:
Romans 6:1: “What then shall we say? Shall we continue in sin so that grace may abound?”
given that Christ has covered our sin
given that Christ is an atonement for sin
given that we, through faith in Him, are under this grace and this covering and this ever atoning
“...Shall we continue in sin so that grace may abound?”
Verse 2: “MAY IT NEVER BE! We who died to sin, how shall we live any longer therein? Or are you ignorant that we, as many as were baptized into Christ Jesus, were baptized into His death?” (vs 2-3). We are conjoined with Him in that death!
Verse 4: “Therefore, we were buried with Him through the baptism into the death... [literally conjoined; in effect, laid right on top of His death] ...so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead...”
We’re still there, we are so conjoined with Him in it all that we died with Him! Therefore, being in Christ we shall be raised from the dead:
“...by the glory of the Father, in the same way, we also should walk in newness of life” (v 4)—so that the old man that died!
We understand this as God has revealed this to us as we counsel for baptism and understanding what is it that we are doing. We are co-joining with Christ in that covenant death and we are alive in Christ in a covenant of life, a newness of life. This is how we should walk!
Verse 5: “For if we have been conjoined together in the likeness of His death, so also shall we be in the likeness of His resurrection.”
That is a hope for that day when we will see Christ coming and we’ll be changed and be with Him. That is our faith! That is exactly what we faith-ized into when we were baptized.
Verse 6: “Knowing this, that our old man was co-crucified with Him in order that the body of sin might be destroyed, so that we might no longer be enslaved to sin.”
Not a slave to sin anymore. Not held in bondage. Death is not hanging over our head with no way out. Being dead in trespasses and sin without any hope (Eph. 2).
Verse 7: “Because the one who has died to sin has been justified from sin.”
We stand just today in the righteousness of Christ, covered by the blood of Christ!
Verse 8: “Now, if we died together with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead...” (vs 8-9).
That’s our faith. He is alive! He is in heaven above at the right hand of the Father. He was seen by brethren in the days of His resurrection. Knowing that he is alive, that He:
“...dies no more; death no longer has any dominion over Him” (v 9).
Yes, we are standing in that same faith. We are there, we are there conjoined with Him, full of that same faith. His faith in the Father to raise Him from the dead is our faith that we share in Him!
Verse 10: “For when He died, He died unto sin once for all; but in that He lives, He lives unto God.”
This dying into sin once is the incredible blessing that we have from God to be able to share with Him in that as a result of that calling, as a result of recognizing that incredible offering that He gave, this gift of life, knowing that it was orchestrated not just by Him alone. His love for His creation, His willingness to come! Indeed, He judged it proper to impute the sin of Adam to us. It was also His judgment that He should be the One to redeem us. He put forth an incredible sacrifice of Himself to do that!
That sacrifice is not repeated year by year by year at Atonement. It is applied year by year by year at Atonement, not just on Atonement Day. But, just like we say, we don’t leave Passover behind as we march to the Kingdom, we do not leave it behind at all! We carry the sacrifice of Christ with us every day! As the Scripture says, ‘Today’:
IF we would listen and obey and hear Him, and be willing to repent and come to Him
IF we will hear His voice and not harden our hearts and be rebellious
IF we have faith in Him and cry out to Him that
He is there
He lives to atone for us
He is High Priest
He officiates just like Aaron did in the physical temple, here is Christ at the right hand of the Father

officiating
He wants us to understand the incredible sacrifice that He gave and what it means in our life!
Verse 12: “Therefore, do not let sin rule in your mortal body by obeying it in the lusts thereof.”
God has called us out of sin, completely out of sin. Christ’s death and resurrection and hope in it, hope in the resurrection is important for you and I to understand our New Covenant relationship with God. Paul again writes,
Hebrews 9:1––for proper context:: “Truly then, the first tabernacle also had ordinances of worship and an earthly sanctuary”––the temple!
Verse 2: “For the first tabernacle, which is called Holy... [the Holy tabernacle of God] ...was furnished; in which were placed both the lampstand and the table, and the loaves of showbread. But behind the second veil was a tabernacle, which is called the Holy of Holies, containing a golden censer, and the Ark of the Covenant, which was overlaid on all sides with gold; in which was the golden jar containing the manna, and the rod of Aaron that had sprouted, and the tablets of the covenant; and arching above it were the cherubim of glory spreading their wings over the mercy seat, concerning which now is not the time to expound in detail” (vs 3-5).
Verse 6: “Now, with these things prepared in this manner presenting a symbol... [a shadow of Truth in heaven] ...the priests enter into the first tabernacle at all customary times in order to perform the services... [that is what reconciled the people to the temple] ...but the high priest enters alone into the second tabernacle once a year, not without blood, which he offers for himself and for the sins that the people committed in ignorance.
Verse 8: “The Holy Spirit... [God is inspiring and understanding] ...signifying this: that the way of the Holiest has not yet been made manifest...”
That’s why Aaron had to do it year after year. It has not been made truly accessible, yet.
“...while the first tabernacle is still standing; which is a symbol for the present time, in which both gifts and sacrifices are being offered that are not able to perfect the one performing the service, as pertaining to the conscience” (vs 8-9).
There is still a consciousness of sin, recognizing that those symbolic things do not take away sin!
Verse 10: “These services consist only of meat and drink offerings, and various washings and physical ordinances, imposed until the time of the new spiritual order.”
Brethren, that time of the new spiritual order is today! That access to what Christ represented there with that blood is today for you and me!
Verse 11: “But Christ Himself has become High Priest... [our High Priest] ...of the coming good things...”
The things that we are now able to experience and have applied to us in the grace of God.
“...through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made by human hands (that is, not of this present physical creation). Not by the blood of goats and calves, but by the means of His own blood... [the blood of the Lord, the blood of Jesus Christ.] ...He entered once for ALL into the Holiest, having by Himself secured everlasting redemption for us” (vs 11-12).
He had to die for us. He had to do it by Himself to be a perfect and acceptable sacrifice for us and our sins!
Verse 13: “For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are defiled... [and flesh is defiled] ... sanctifies to the purifying of the flesh to a far greater degree, the blood of Christ, Who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God...” (vs 13-14).

no sin
no wrinkle
acceptable to God
“...shall purify your conscience from dead works to serve the living God” (v 14).
Yes, God has called us out of sin, purified us so that we can be acceptable to the Father, serviceable to the Father, in the blood of Christ. Christ’s sacrifice is what we stand in, that blood upon the altar that was given for us is the blood of Christ!
Verse 15: “And for this reason He is the Mediator of the New Covenant: in order that through His death, which took place for the release of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called might receive the promise of the eternal inheritance”—Eternal Life!
What an incredible gift that Jesus Christ has made possible for us! This was not possible before the death of the Lord. There was no forgiveness of sin through a bull or a goat or an animal. We had been judged by the sins of Adam and we were destined for death. We all were on death row! But:
the Lord’s action
the Lord’s work
the Lord’s love
and
God the Father in sending Him for us
was for Life!
We have that Life in Christ because of the work that They did. We have an incredible blessing from God. Christ died once for all mankind! We see here the connection between Old Covenant and New. The death of Christ on the cross now applied on Atonement? No! there is no need to sacrifice Him on that day. Why? He is spirit! He is an:
ever atoning spirit
ever atoning life
That is what Christ is. It is Him Who is the Author of Life!
Now let’s deal with Satan. Let’s deal with the live goat and let’s get an understanding here. Satan the devil is:
going to be judged
going to be put away
going to be dealt with
Let’s go back to Lev. 16. We’ll take some time here to get an understanding of this proper judgment that Satan or Azazel––the goat on which the lot fell for Azazel––is properly judged.
Leviticus 16:21: “And Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the sins of the children of Israel.”
Yes, Christ redeemed us from those sins, a sinless man, in the flesh and redeemed us! But the sins belong to Satan! He is the author of them, truly the author of them.
“...and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them on the head of the goat, and shall send it away by the hand of a chosen man into the wilderness. And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities to a land in which no one lives. And he shall let the goat go in the wilderness” (vs 21-22).
Yes, Satan is the author of them! They belong to him, a proper judgment for him. It is him who is the:
author of sin
author of darkness
author of death
It was through him [Satan] that these things came into being.
Revelation 12:1: “Then there appeared a great wonder in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and having the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. And being with child, she cried in travail, and was in pain to deliver. And another sign was seen in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns on his heads” (vs 1-3). This is Satan!
We know that he swept a third of the stars when he rebelled the first time. That he is the author of rebellion and all those attitudes that one sees.
Isaiah 14:12: “How you are fallen from the heavens, O shining star, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations!”
This is this attitude that God calls to us to repent of, not to go in! You can’t conquer this alone.

you need the blood of Christ
you need the power that is available to you now
because of the atoning power of
Christ’s blood, which is God’s Spirit
God’s presence
God’s very being
in you!
Satan’s attitude again, v 13: “...‘I will ascend into the heavens, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north.’[what an arrogant attitude he has] ...I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High” (vs 13-14).
Verse 15: “Yet, you [Satan] shall be brought down to the grave, to the sides of the pit.”
God will deal with Him. He has no power over God! He is going to be dealt with and judged! He is the cause of sin and wickedness. He’s a liar and a deceiver, and that is his nature. When these things come up, that’s what we have to avoid.
God has called us to His Truth and God is wanting us to walk in His ways! God’s message is clear for us. Those who come through the Tribulation will hear these words anew. Those who come up in the Great White Throne Judgment will need to hear these words.
I just want to conclude with 2-Cor. 5 and read some Scriptures here in this section for our true encouragement, and to bring to a full understanding what we’re hearing today.
But there’s so much to be read and digested in terms of this thing that God has done through His Son.
2-Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone be in Christ, he is a new creation... [we belong to God; we are the children begotten of God] ...the old things have passed away... [so we don’t walk in death; we walk anew in life with Christ] ...behold, all things have become new. And all things are from God...” (vs 17-18). Everything in our life should be measured and compared against God!

Our walk is not in death; Christ died for this!
He didn’t die so that we can marinate in sin
He didn’t die so that we could feel comfortable in sin
Verse 18: “And all things are from God, Who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation; which is, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself... [as depicted by the goat on which the lot fell for the Lord] ...not imputing their trespasses to them; and He has entrusted to us this message of reconciliation (vs 18-19).
Verse 20: “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ... [yes, today we are lights in the world] ...and God, as it were, is exhorting you through us...”
we will exhort
we will encourage
we will cry out
“...We beseech you on behalf of Christ, ‘Be reconciled to God’” (v 20).
You can access Him through your Elder Brother and High Priest Jesus Christ. What a message to give to the world, so that the whole world will comprehend this Truth!
Verse 21: “For He made Him Who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
Yes, God is righteous and we shall be born and we shall be like Him because Christ has paved the way through the atoning for a sacrifice of atonement for the sins of the world forever.
Brethren, yes, this day is very special to God’s people and it will be explained and given as a gift of understanding through the clarity of comprehension because Jesus Christ’s Spirit, the Spirit of God, will fill the earth.
Light will come and illuminate the minds to comprehend this wonderful gift of life that God has provided!
Brethren, enjoy the rest of your Holy day, the Day of Atonement, and meditate deeply on these things for indeed, they are a gift from God!
